The Cambridge Period Project is about striving for menstrual equity – a key feminist issue that transects so many aspects of our society – and we are working to alleviate period poverty in the community and university. Cambridge has infamously been branded the most unequal city in the UK, and you cannot visit without being viscerally aware of the drastically high levels of homelessness in the city. The university has historically not been a place that welcomes women/menstruating people (they were only first admitted to most colleges as recently as 40 years ago) and remnants of this still persist. We are on a mission to change this!

I joined the Cambridge Period Project as I believe that reliable access to period products that do not provide a financial burden should be a universal right, but this is not currently the case, particularly in Cambridge, a city with such stark inequality. I am excited to join the project to enact structural change and to instil the core value of menstrual equity into both the university and the local community.

I have been a member of TCPP since the very start! I decided to jump on board with the project because I am passionate about eradicating period poverty and making sustainable period products more accessible to all!

I believe it is important to enact self-sustaining, long term solutions so menstrual product provision is not impacted by the poor institutional memory of the uni.

I’m really excited to be part of TCPP this year. My role involves working with organisations within Cambridge to address period poverty in the UK’s most unequal city.

Period products should be accessible to everyone, and it is frustrating period poverty is so prevalent in a city like Cambridge. I am excited to publicise all the amazing work TCPP does!

I wanted to be on TCPP because I think period poverty around the country is a worthwhile cause and I want to do what I can to help!
